Solar Batteries
Solar batteries store excess energy generated by solar panels for later use, providing backup power when sunlight is unavailable. There are two main types: lead-acid batteries, which are cost-effective but require maintenance and have a shorter lifespan, and lithium-ion batteries, which are more efficient, longer-lasting, and maintenance-free. Solar batteries are rated by capacity (kWh) and depth of discharge (DoD), with lithium-ion batteries offering higher efficiency and deeper discharge cycles. They are used in both off-grid systems, where all power is stored, and grid-tied systems, where excess energy is stored for later use or during outages.
